After clashes erupted between students and police on MA road in Srinagar a top J&K police official was injured after a stone hit him.
Reports said that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail Parray was hit by a stone in his right elbow during the clashes.

The clashes initially erupted after students from SP College, Women’s College and SP Higher Secondary school staged protests on the busy MA road in Srinagar. Later the protests spilled in the surrounding areas.
Police used restrain while handling the protests, eyewitnesses said and CRPF personnel were not called in.
However later police restored to teargas shelling and aerial firing as protests intensified.
