SRINAGAR: In a tragic incident at Buchoo area of Pattan, Baramulla, a scuffle between two teachers resulted in one of them allegedly chopping off the ear of his colleague.
The injured teacher was immediately taken to the local hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday February 21.
The accused teacher, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, has been taken into custody, and the victim received five stitches in his ear.
The teaching community has condemned the incident, stating that it undermines the integrity of the teaching profession and sets a poor example for students.
The Chief Education Officer of Baramulla has directed the concerned authorities to take departmental action against the accused teacher, and a committee has recommended reshuffling the teaching staff from the school.
