Huriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has stressed upon the youth that apart from performing up to their best ability in education, they should also search their skill in the field of sports. He said in Kashmiri there was no dearth of talented youth in sports, but the significant thing was that such people should be provided with appropriate platform where they can hone their skills in the field.
In a statement issued to KNS, distributing prizes among the winner team of T 20 Shaheed-e-millat cricket tournament, Mirwaiz, who was the special guest on the occasion, stressed that youth should take part in sports activities in these testing times to remain both mentally and physically fit.
In the fifth T -20 Shaheed-e-millat tournament, Kashmir Gymkhana played against Star Sports Srinagar at Islamia College cricket ground. The Gymkhana which played a better game won the tournament.
Like other fields, Mirwaiz said sportsmen have to face challenges in this field as well due to government neglect. He said government has no policy regarding sports due to which the people who want to take it as career are suffering.
