Kashmir’s Power Development department (PDD) Wednesday provided awareness to the school children about the judicious use of electricity.
The reports received by Kashmir News Service,(KNS) mentioned that the energy awareness programmme was organized in one of the schools of Srinagar’s old town wherein the children were educated by the PDD authorities about the judicious usage of electricity.
The reports further mentioned that several senior officials of the power department including the Chief Engineer Bashir Ahmad Khan participated in the awareness programme.
The PDD chief in his address to the school children mentioned that the judicious use of power is for the betterment of the society and that the children must not allow their parents and other elders in their respective homes to violate the electricity norms. Mr. Khan further advised children that the balanced usage of power will benefit the whole state and that children must take active part in saving energy for future.
While talking to KNS, Chief Engineer PDD Bashir Ahmad Khan said that the need of the hour is to generate awareness among the children so that the electricity in the state could be used judiciously. “Now we are educating the children so that they could educate their parents about the proper usage of electricity and that there must be no hooking and illegal connections.”
