SRINAGAR: Police have recovered a third body from the debris of the destroyed houses in Pulwama village where an encounter took place on Monday. The identity of the slain is yet not known.

Reports reaching from Pulwama said that at Bahmnoo village whee counter-insurgent forces had clashes with the rebels, third dead body was recovered. Two bodies had already been recovered from there on Monday. They were identified as Jehangir Ahmad of Chak Keller and Kifayat Ahmad Khanday of Bamnoo. A umber of civilians were also injured in the day long operation.A Major ra officer and a sub inspector of CRPF were also injured but were termed stable by police sources.

At least three residential structures where the militants were holed up, have gone up in smoke. The operation is over but the police are still searching the debris for weapons. The searches are expected to take some more more time, reports said.

Meanwhile reports from Bandipore said a mixed column of police and CRPF have launched a cordon and search operation in Waza Mohalla of Ajas. It was not immediately known, if the operation was launched on basis of inputs about militant presence or i was just a search operation to arrest some over ground workers.
