One person died while another was injured in road accidents across the valley, a police statement said.
“A Maruti Zen Estilo bearing registration number JK09/6037 hit and injured a pedestrian Tarish Mohi-ud-din daughter of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din resident of Zeb Magam at Kulangam, Handwara,” the statement said.
“In another accident, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03D/4026 met with an accident at Hutmurah, Mattan, resulting in injuries to the Motorcyclist,” it said.
The injured have been shifted to Hospitals for treatment. While Police have registered cases to probe the accidents.
Meanwhile, a residential house was partially damaged in fire in Kupwara district last evening, the statement added.
“Fire broke out in the residential house of Ashraf Sofi son of Mohammad Subhan resident of Sehipora, Hihama, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kupwara, resulting in partial damage to the house. Fire was brought under control by fire tenders and police.”
