Three persons died while eight others were injured in different road accidents in Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla and Sopore, police said Friday.

In Srinagar, an unknown tipper hit two pedestrians Ruksana wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan resident of Baran Pather Batamaloo and Safiya Rashid daughter of Mohammad Ismail Mir resident of Nund-Reshi Colony Bemina, near Sham Lal Petrol Pump Bypass, resulting in on spot death of both the pedestrians. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased women were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites. Srinagar police has registered a case in this regard.

“In Budgam, a Tata sumo bearing registration number JK04C-925 turned turtle at Kakowring Chadoora, resulting in injuries to four persons Manzoor Ahmad Ganaie, Zubair Ahmad Ganaie, Mohammad Illays Yatoo, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Ganaie residents of Watkaloo Chadoora,” police said in a statement. “All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment where Manzoor Ahmad succumbed to his injuries. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.”

Meanwhile, an accident took place between a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02L-2848 and a Maruti car bearing registration number JK04B-5208, at Dooru Khansahab, resulting in injuries to three persons. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Khansahab for treatment.

“In Baramulla, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK09A-0457 driven by Abdul Hamid Banday resident of Banday Mohalla, Handwara hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Jaffar Reshi resident of Hanjiwera Payeen at Pattan. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment, police said.

“In Sopore, an unknown vehicle hit a Maruti van bearing registration number JK01C-6841 near petrol pump Warpora, resulting in injuries to its driver Abdul Ahad Mir resident of Warpora. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Sopore for treatment. Sopore police has registered a case in this regard.”
