04 Arrested In Mattan Death Case

Police arrested four youth in the case of death of a load carrier driver allegedly in stone pelting in Mattan Islamabad on March 8.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Najar son of Abdul Majid Najar, Amir Bashir Malik son of Bashir Ahmad Malik, Amir Hussain Najar son of Abdul Hamid Najar and Sartaj Ahmad Wagay son of  Ghulam Nabi Wagay all residents of Kralpora Mattan.

A load carrier driver, Riyaz Ahmad Khanday son of Nazir Ahmad, resident of Aang Matipora who was injured in a stone pelting incident at Tik Bagh Mattan, in south Kashmir’s district Islamabad on March 08,  passed away in SK institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar on Monday late night.

Riyaz who received serious injuries in his head died after battling for life for three days.

Earlier on March 9, police had alleged that some “miscreants” pelted stones on Riyaz at Tik Bagh.
