07 Gamblers Arrested, Rs 95,230 Recovered : Police

Srinagar police arrested seven gamblers near Ali Jan Road, Srinagar and recovered bet money of Rs. 95,230 from the gambling site. A police statement said.

It added that a police party of Soura police station raided a gambling place and arrested seven gamblers from the spot near Ali Jan Road. The arrested gamblers were identified as Farooq Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Gani Bhat resident of Zoonimar, Azad Ahmad Bazaz son of Noor-ud-din resident of Islamia College Gojware,. Ghulam Hassan Joo son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din resident of Bota Kadal, Lateef Ahmad Shah son of Saifuddin resident of  Hawal. Noor ud Makhdoomi son of Aziz -ud-Din resident of Lal Bazar, Bota Shah Mohalla, Abdul Hamid Rather son of Saber Rather resident of Wantpora Hawal, Mohammad Shafi Malik son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Nawakadal.

Police recovered a stake money of Rs. 95.230 and few packs of playing cards from the gambling site. A case FIR No 02/2013 U/S 13 Gambling Act was registered against the accused persons in police station, Soura.
