Eight persons including four minors and an adult female were injured when lightening struck a Gujar hutment in Bidhar village. Four of them were treated locally and discharged.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Dr Farooq A. Lone said of the four persons who were shifted to Islamabad district hospital, one might be required to be sent to SKIMS. All the injured will survive, he said after visiting the village and the injured in the hospitals at Kokernag And Islamabad. “We have already paid a compensation if Rs 5000 to the seriously injured and Rs 1000 to the minor injured,” dr Lone said. “We will do whatever is required to ensure the injured have a speedy recovery.”

Doctors at the district hospital in Islamabad said they have already refered the seriously injured female to Srinagar.

Weather conditions across Kashmir continue to remain rainy and unpleasant. For most of the afternoon, it was raining.
