SRINAGAR: Authorities have confiscated a significant amount of heroin, totaling nearly 10 kgs, from three cross-border smugglers who were apprehended near the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir

An official said that the arrests followed alertness from a Village Defence Guard member, with one accomplice managing to flee. The recent seizure of 1.44 kgs occurred based on information provided by the detained smugglers, he said.

The official said that the investigation revealed the involvement of three vehicles in the smuggling operation, all of which were seized.

He stress the seriousness of drug-related crimes and vow to pursue all leads vigorously. Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Amrit Pal Singh, urges drug peddlers to abandon their activities for the betterment of society, emphasizing strict consequences for those who persist.
