So far, in main town Sopore that has 11 polling booths, not even a single vote has been cast.

People in North Kashmir are voting for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat.

“11 polling booths are in Girls Higher Secondary School, Sopore and not a single voter turned to cast vote so far,” an official told Kashmir Life.

Sopore is the home town of Hurriyat conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani who has called for a poll boycott.

The residence of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru hanged and buried in Tihar jail in 2013, is also not so far from away from the town.

“Afzal’s grave is still wet, how can we forget him and take part in the election process,” Suhail Ahmad told Kashmir Life reporter.

The apple town is witnessing curfew like situation.
