Given the prominence of SKIMS and contribution besides fulfillment of other criteria intake capacity of MBBS seats at SKIMS Medical College Bemina has been enhanced from 50 to 100 for the academic session 2013-14.

Director SKIMS & Ex-officio Secretary to government Dr Showkat A.Zargar has hailed the decision and thanked Ministry of eaHealth and Family Welfare. “It is an acknowledgement to the strength and potential of SKIMS Medical College,” he said adding “More students will accumulate the benefit by the increase in number of seats and give further boost to medical profession in the State.”

As per a statement the students and faculty at SKIMS Medical College have congratulated Dr Showkat A Zargar, who is also the Principal SKIMS Medical College over the achievement and his dynamic leadership and commitment to get SKIMS Medical College at par with international standards.

SKIMS Medical College well known for its vibrant academic atmosphere was set up in 1988-89 and later taken over by the government in 1998 provides up to the mark medical facilities and infrastructure and is major contributor to the medical profession in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
