SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered a major administrative restructuring within the Jammu and Kashmir Architects Organisation, placing several officers and officials against higher posts on an in-charge basis.
According to Government Order No. 110-JK(HUD) of 2026 issued on 29 May 2026 by the Housing and Urban Development Department, sanction has been accorded for the placement of multiple officers to higher responsibilities in their own pay and grade, along with admissible charge allowance under rules.
As per the order, Kafeel Ahmed Ferozi, Imtiaz Ahmad Chillo and Bhawna Nanda, presently In-charge Divisional Architects, have been placed as In-charge Senior Architects against available vacancies. In another set of placements, several Assistant Architects and one In-charge Assistant Architect, including Sundeep Raina, Shaheen Choudhary, Shahid Nabi Dar, Kulbir Kumar Thakur and Arshad Hussain Wani, have been designated as In-charge Divisional Architects.
Further, Architectural and Technical Assistants, namely Sanjay Gupta, Fayiaz Ahmad, Rubina Rashid and Farhat Manzoor, have been placed as In-charge Assistant Architects.
The order clarifies that all such placements are purely stop-gap arrangements and shall not confer any preferential right for regular promotion. It also states that the arrangements will remain subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions before competent courts.
Following the reassignments, additional posting adjustments have also been ordered. Kafeel Ahmed Ferozi will serve as In-charge Senior Architect, Central, and will hold additional charge of Chief Architect, JK, and Director, Building Centre Srinagar. Imtiaz Ahmad Chillo has been posted to Kashmir, while Bhawna Nanda has been assigned to Jammu.
Sundeep Raina, Shahid Chander Bhagat, Shaheen Choudhary, Shahid Nabi Dar, Kulbir Kumar Thakur and Arshad Hussain Wani have been placed in various Divisional Architect roles across Jammu, Kashmir and Central divisions, with additional charge assignments in some cases.
Officials have confirmed that the remaining Assistant Architects will continue at their present postings until further orders.
