The records provided by the two major hospitals of valley, under Right to Information Act (RTI) Wednesday revealed that more than 165 people were seriously injured including 12 who lost eye sight due to pellet gun injuries since last four years.

The report that is in possession of Kashmir News Service (KNS), mentioned that in the year 2010, around 100 youth were admitted in the JVC hospital with the pellet gun injuries.

The report added that 19 persons who sustained pellet gun injuries were referred to ophthalmology department of the hospital. It mentioned that 12 persons lost their partial eye sight while as two people completely became blind due to the pellet injuries.

The SMHS hospital has mentioned further in the report that it received more than 53 persons with bullet injuries since last four years. The reports added that in the year 2010-11, the hospital received 36 patients, 2011-12 it received one and in the year 2012-13, 13 patients with bullet injuries were admitted in the hospital. It further states that during the ongoing year, it has received 13 cases of bullet injuries so far.

The report further has mentioned that the hospital received seven persons who were injured due to the grenade attacks at different places in valley.
