SRINAGAR: The Crime Branch Kashmir on Saturday secured a conviction in Case FIR No. 22/2005 U/S 419,420 RPC related to impersonation, fake appointment in Animal Husbandry Department.

According to a statement issued by Crime Branch, the case was being tried before the Court of 3rd Additional Munsiff Srinagar.

“In the year 2005 Crime Branch Kashmir had received a complaint regarding illegal appointment of Ulfat wife of Munshi Reyaz Ahmad a resident of  Zadibal Srinagar,” the statement said.

“Subsequently a case FIR No. 22/2005 was registered in P/S Crime Branch Kashmir. Charge sheet of the case was presented before the court of 3rd additional munsiff Srinagar,” it said.

“After marathon trial of 12 years the court convicted the accused lady to simple imprisonment for a period of one year and imposed a fine of Rs 3000/- U/S 419 Ranbir Penal Code,” it added.

“Further, the accused was sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment of one year and a fine of 5000/- U/S 420 RPC,” it further added.

“However both the Offences shall run concurrently, in case of default in a fine amount the convict shall undergo imprisonment of six months,” said the statement.
