The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 conducted successfully in the State on Sunday.
There are 20180 candidates were registered for 26 centres with 11 in Srinagar and 15 in Jammu and wherein examination was held in two sessions.
“Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 conducted in the State where 12208 candidates appeared in ‘General Studies’ at Forenoon Session with percentage 61.91% and 12158 were present in ‘Optional’ at afternoon session with percentage 61.65 across the State,” an official statement said this late evening.
Meanwhile, in Jammu 7199 candidates appeared and in Srinagar 5009 candidates were present in the examination of ‘General Studies’ Forenoon Session.
Similarly, in ‘Optional’ (Afternoon Session) in Jammu 7149 were present and in Srinagar 5009 were present in the examination.
It is pertinent to mention here that government had appointed 38 observers for the combined competitive (preliminary) Examination 2014,
“It was the first Public Services Commission J&K examination was held in the State after the formation of New Public Service Commission Committee by the Jammu and Kashmir government,” the statement said adding, “for the smooth conduct of examination the Jammu and Kashmir government had been made fool proof arrangements including security, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water supply and other necessary arrangements.”
