The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said 13 cases of bank dacoities have taken place during the year 2016-2017.

In a written reply to a question of MLC Vikram Randhawa, Chief Minister in the Legislative council informed that 13 cases of bank dacoities have taken place in last one year in which an amount of Rs 1,13,05,144 was looted.

“Out of which an amount of Rs 1,99,000 was recovered during the period,” she added.

She further informed that 251 weapons, including AK-47, self-loading rifles (SLR) and INSAS rifles, were snatched by militants in Jammu and Kashmir in last three years.

The weapons include 35 AK rifles, 43 SLRs, 44 Insas, 12 pistols with magazines and 102 grenades were looted from security forces in last three years.

She further informed that FIRs have been lodged in all the cases and the investigation is going on.
