Arrangements for conducting free, fair and impartial Lok Sabha Elections-2014 for Islamabad Parliamentary Constituency for which polling is to be held on April 24, 2014 have been finalized.

In this connection, the poll staff for the constituency comprising 16 Assembly segments of Bijbehara, Islamabad, Pahalgam, Dooru, Kokernag, Shangus, Tral, Pampore, Pulwama, Rajpora, Wachi, Shopian, Noorabad, Kulgam, Homeshalibugh and Devsar has been dispatched along with Electronic Voting Machines and other poll material.

It is pertinent to mention that 12 candidates are in the fray for Islamabad Parliamentary Constituency which include Syed Abid Ahmad Shah of J&K National Panthers Party, Mirza Mehboob Beg of National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti of PDP, Mohammad Sharief of BSP, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik of BJP, Asif Jeelani of AIFB, Dr. Tanvir Maqbool Dar of AAP, Ghulam Nabi Shah of Samajwadi Party, Mohammad Yaqoob Rather of All J&K Republican Party and Mohammad Yousuf Ganie of Ambedkar Samaj Party, besides Tanveer Hussain Khan and Abdul Ahad Mir as Independent candidates.

The total number of electorate in the 03-Islamabad Parliamentary Constituency is 13,01,142. As many as 1615 polling stations have been set up in the 03-Islamabad Parliamentary Constituency which are being manned by 4845 poll personnel.
