Of the 138 evacuees, nine were rescued under Operation Ajay, one under Operation Kaveri, and 128 under Operation Ganga, primarily from war-hit nations, including Ukraine, the Minister said.

He emphasised that the Government of India prioritises the safety, security, and well-being of Indian citizens abroad. Evacuation operations are carried out in coordination with government stakeholders to ensure the safe return of stranded nationals.

The government also highlighted its ongoing diplomatic efforts to safeguard Indians during evacuation processes, maintaining constant communication with counterparts in affected regions.

“When necessary, local volunteers from the Indian community are engaged to provide logistical support. Additionally, 24/7 control rooms are operated both at headquarters and abroad to assist in evacuation efforts,” the statement added.
