SRINAGAR: Poonch Police on Sunday attached four properties spanning 14.8 kanals of land, valued at approximately Rs 28 lakh, in the villages of Qasba and Kirni in District Poonch.
The police stated that these properties belonged to three local militants operating from Pakistan. The individuals have been identified as Najab Din, son of Mohamda, resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch; Mohd. Latif, son of Mohamda, resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch and Mohd. Bashir alias Tikka Khan, son of Bahadur Ali, resident of Village Qasba, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch.
All three individuals had earlier fled to Pakistan and are actively engaged in promoting militancy, disturbing peace, and threatening social harmony in Poonch and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The action was taken in compliance with the Hon’ble Court’s order under Sections 82/83 of CrPC, related to FIR No. 202/2022 registered at Police Station Poonch.
The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team led by DySP Headquarters Poonch, Sh. Neeraj Sharma, SHO Police Station Poonch, Insp. Rashid, and Naib-Tehsildar Poonch, along with revenue officials. The execution of this action was witnessed by local residents of villages Qasba and Kirni, police said.
SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain, JKPS, stated that Poonch Police remain steadfast in their resolve to root out militancy and ensure peace and stability in the region, the statement concluded. (GNS)
