SRINAGAR: An 14-year-old boy drowned while bathing in a power canal at Ganiwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
Official sources said that 14-year-old boy identified as Asif Ahmad Kasana son of Mohammad Lateef Kasana, a resident of Hari Ganiwan Kangan, drowned in the canal when he was taking bath.
An official said that after receiving information, Police and SDRF team rushed to the spot and rescue operation has been launched to retrieve the body from Power Canal.
