A 15-day workshop on Research Methodology began at the University of Kashmir on Thursday.

The workshop, in which over 50 research scholars are participating, has been organized by The Business School.

KU Registrar, Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, presided over the inaugural session.

In his address, he said academic institutions cannot achieve excellence without quality research.

“Research helps us investigate issues and problems in detail and work out innovative solutions. So academic institutions need to develop a system to groom scholars for conducting quality research,” he said, hailing the initiatives taken by The Business School to enhance skills and knowledge of budding scholars and help them conduct socially-relevant research.

In his welcome address, Director, The Business School, Prof S Mufeed Ahmad, said the workshop aims to enhance skills and competencies of research scholars.

“It has been the endeavour of The Business School to organize such workshops and seminars which will contribute to promotion of quality research and ultimately help the institution produce the work that is accepted and acclaimed globally,” he said. “Several eminent scholars and academics will interact with the research scholars during the workshop sessions.”

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Joo is course coordinator of the workshop.
