17 More COVID-19 Patients Discharged From SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina

   

SRINAGAR:  SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina today discharged 17 more COVID-19 patients belonging to various districts of Kashmir. On completion of treatment and successfully managing the recovery of these COVID-19 patients, they were allowed to go home.

These patients had been admitted to the Bemina Hospital two weeks back after testing positive at various referral centres. Principal SKIMS Medical College Bemina Dr Reyaz Untoo said that the Institution had been putting all efforts to ensure best possible health care to the COVID-19 admitted patients.

The seventeen patients discharged today include four from District Anantnag, three from Budgam, two from Srinagar, two from District Bandipora, three from District Baramulla, two from Shopian and one patient from District  Ganderbal. “So far among 285 Covid patients admitted in this hospital for treatment, the total number of patients recovered has reached 220. The recovered patients include patients of Gynae & Obstetrics department where 9 nine pregnant Covid patients gave deliveries through normal delivery and six pregnant ladies who were covid positive gave childbirth after undergoing major LSCS surgeries” the statement released by the hospital said.

“The patients are not only provided medical treatment as per the protocol adopted by this institution in compliance to ICMR guidelines but also provided with psychiatric counselling. Besides, a hygienic diet comprising fruits full of nutrients, vitamins and minerals has also been provided by the hospital to the covid patients,” said Dr Untoo. “This has enabled the Institution to reach a high recovery rate of 77% and low mortality rate of 0.7%,” he added.

Dr Untoo informed that the COVID testing lab established by SKIMS Bemina on fast track basis in the month of May has so far conducted more than 5000 tests of samples received from the field and tests conducted on Covid patients admitted in the hospital, with daily average testing capacity of 500 tests.
