In a major success , troops of 17 RR late last night busted a militant hideout in Cherji area of Nagsini block in Kishtwar District and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition from the busted hideout including the US army jacket exclusively prepare for the NATO troops operated in Taliban strong bastion of Afghanistan.

IMG_6075When contacted army officials in Kishtwar informed that on the bases of specific input about the movement of HM Divisional Commander Mohammad Amin Butt alias Jahingir Saroori,  army launched a search operation in dense Cherji forest and found a militant hideout inside the tree trunk. Army added that after searching the hideout, one AK 56 riffle, 3 Magazines of AK, 224 rounds of AK, One Magazine of Russian made sniffer gun, 7 rounds of sniffer, 11 rounds of SLR, One Pouch and a USA made army jacket was found from the said hideout. The army though remains tight lipped over the recovery of US army jacket from HM militant hideout active since last 23 years in Kishtwar and Anantnag belt of Kashmir, but added that the matter has been brought into the notice of higher authorities and is being looked into. HM Divisional Commander Jahinger is among the only two militants presently active in Kishtwar District and is wanted by the NIA in September 2011 blast, particularly after the elimination of Chota Hafiz and Amir Kamal.
