SRINAGAR: The security grid in Jammu and Kashmir has killed 17 militants who had driven to Pakistan on valid visas and took training in handling weapons, reports in the media said.

The report said that Kashmir youth visiting Pakistan get a crash course in handling arms. “An intelligence official said the trend gathered pace in 2015 when a large number of youth started leaving for Pakistan for studies and meeting relatives. Some of them were killed at the Line of Control (LoC) while trying to enter illegally,” the report by a premier news agency said.

It may be recalled here that the University Grants Commission and the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recently announced that the professional degrees acquired by students in Pakistan would neither be eligible for jobs nor higher studies in India.
