SRINAGAR: The Army detained a 17-year-old girl from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) after she crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district, officials said.
The woman, identified as Samiya Azeem, daughter of Mohd Azeem and a resident of Khuiretta in PoJK, was intercepted by an Army patrol in the Lam sector of Nowshera.
Officials said the patrol noticed her movement near the LoC and detained her. After preliminary questioning, the troops handed her over to the police.
Samiya is being questioned by Nowshera police. During interrogation, she claimed that she had inadvertently crossed to the Indian side of the LoC, officials said.
Further investigation into the circumstances of the crossing is underway.
