Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday termed Pakistan as an ethical supporter for ongoing freedom movement and said prosperous and stable Pakistan is absolutely needed for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

While addressing a gathering on telephone in remembrance of Jamat E Islami leader, late Quiz Hussain Ahmad said, “I feel it is an irreparable loss not only for Pakistan but we as Kashmiris have lost a great patron and great sympathiser of freedom movement.”

Referring to the ‘horrible’ situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Ali Geelani said that Indian authorities have created a graveyard like silence with the dint of might and laid curbs over the political activities of pro-freedom politicians. “Pro-freedom people are not being permitted to interact with the people and authorities have unleashed arrest spree and detained hundreds and thousands of innocents,” said Geelani.

The aged-Separatist in his address also said that India has suppressed the freedom aspirations and right of freedom to people of Kashmir, “Pakistan is passing through turmoil due to sectarian violence and conspiracies’ sponsored by some vested powers,” he said, adding, “Sinister forces within the Pakistan provide assistance to those foreign forces who are hell-bent to see disintegration of Pakistan.”

While expressing his deep concern over the proposed death sentences to two veteran Jamat e Islami leaders by Bangla Desh Government, Syed Ali Geelani stressed all the religious organizations in Pakistan to register their protest against the said verdict and use their influence to suspend the death sentences.

Paying tributes to late Quiz Husain Ahmad, Syed Ali Geelani said, that late leader was a staunch well-wisher of ongoing freedom movement in Kashmir and we feel his demise is a irreparable loss .
