Rs 19,000 crore have been released by  the Government of India (GoI) out of the Rs 80,000 crore development package for Jammu and Kashmir announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015.

The discloser came a high-level inter-ministerial meeting chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Thursday, reports said.


25 per cent of funds, it was revealed in the meeting, from the total package, around Rs 19,000 crore, has been released so far and related works were going on, reports quorting officials officials said.

The announcement has come after Kashmir is going through tensions.
