A 19-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his home at Muqam-e-Shahwali area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Bilal Ahmad Mir (19) son of Abdul Ahad Mir of Baghwadi, Muqam-e-Shahwali, hanged himself inside his home today in the morning, an official said.
The family members of the youth, after spotting him hanging inside the room, immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Bilal, who was pursuing his graduation and it was not immediately known as to why he took this extreme step, the official said.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under 174 CrPc and taken up further investigations in this regard, the official added. (GNS)
