Two civilians were killed and few others injured after a mortar shell landed on a house in Jhanger village of Nowshera along the Line of Control in Rajouri district on Saturday.

Reports said that the armies of India and Pakistan have been exchanged heavy fire and shelling in the area since 7:15 am in Baba Khori and other areas in Nowshera sector.

“Pakistani troops used 120 mm mortar shells,” reports quoting sources said.

Dozens of families have migrated to safer places from forward areas of Jhanger Nowshera because of the firing and shelling that have been going on intermittently during past few days.

Meanwhile, authorities have ordered immediate closure of all the educational institutions in Rajouri district.

Officials have directed closure of all the educational institutions falling within two-kilometres from the LoC in the district today, reports said.
