Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 120 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession.

The spokesman in a statement said that a police party of Police Station Lal Bazar under the supervision of SHO Police Station Lalbazar laid a Naka at New Colony area in their jurisdiction.

“During naka checking, a vehicle bearing registration number CHO1AW-8015 was intercepted. On checking, 120 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from the possession of Abid Hussain Pathan son of Mohammad Shafiq resident of Zadibal and Suhail Ahmad Khan son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Syed Sahab Hazratbal, a police spokesman said.

A case FIR number 41/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this Police Station Lal Bazar and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman said.
