Continuing its drive against menace of drugs, police has arrested two drugs peddlers in Awantipora and recovered over 17 kilograms of poppy straw from possession. Following a tip off, a police party of Police Station Awantipora during Naka checking apprehended two individuals identified as Bakhtawar Ahmad Makroo son of Abdul Raheem resident of Batapora Gulzarpora and Fayaz Ahmad Naikoo son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Beighpora at Padgampora. On their checking police recovered 17.5 kilograms of Poppy Straw.
Awantipora police has registered a case FIR number 20/2017 under section 15/18 NDPS act against these drugs peddlers and investigation has been taken up.
