Police during last night raided the Baramulla district jail and recovered 20 cell phones from the inmates, reports quoting sources said on Wednesday.
They said that a joint search was conducted by Baramulla Police and Jail authorities last night in the Sub Jail Baramulla after information about the presence of unauthorized mobile phones on the premises.
“20 cell phones and some incriminating material was recovered from the possession of jail inmates,” they said.
They said that a case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been taken up to know how the recovered articles which are not authorised as per jail manual have made entry into the jail premises.
