In a very shameful act, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Pampore area of Pulwama district, police said on Monday.
“Police has received a report that a 4 year child has been sexually assaulted by Gowher Ahmad Dar at Karnabal Sambura Pampore, police said in a statement.
The 22-year-old accused identified as Gowhar Ahmad Dar, sexually assaulted the minor yesterday.
“The child is critical and has been admitted to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment,” police said adding “further investigations are on.”
An FIR has been lodged and massive search for the culprit has been launched, police said.
Meanwhile, taking strong note of the incident the locals have demanded that stern action should be taken against the culprit.
