SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday lauded the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) for restoring the sight of 220 patients during a mega eye surgical camp held under Operation Drishti in Tangdhar, Karnah.
The surgeries were conducted at an underground operation theatre in the challenging border area, according to the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
Sinha, in a post on X, commended the surgeons and medical personnel for conducting the camp and described the restoration of sight of 220 people as a “remarkable achievement”.
The medical team, led by Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, performed advanced eye procedures, including phacoemulsification, retinal and glaucoma surgeries, the LG said.
He said the initiative reflected the spirit of Operation Sadbhavna by taking specialised medical services to remote border areas.
“Bringing advanced eye surgeries, including phacoemulsification, retinal and glaucoma procedures, to remote border hamlets ensures that no citizen is left behind,” Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor also praised the dedication of the AFMS personnel involved in the initiative.
