SRINAGAR: The Centre has approved the selection lists for induction of 23 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir State Civil Service into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on August 28, the selection lists have been prepared against vacancies arising between January 1 and December 31 of 2019 and 2020.
The 2019 selection list comprises 18 officers — Babila Rakwal, Anil Koul, Shabnam Shah Kamili, Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo, Rachna Sharma, Leela Padha, Kusum Badyal, Rajinder Singh Tara, Vivek Sharma, Tariq Hussain Ganai, Munir-ul-Islam, Mohammad Harun Malik, Nisar Ahmad Wani, Jatinder Singh, Sajjad Hussain Ganai, Amoo Malhotra, Shamim Ahmad and Nitu Gupta.
The 2020 selection list includes five officers — Prediman Krishan Bhat, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Bhawani Rakwal, Smita Sethi and Anuradha Gupta.
The notification said the selection lists were prepared under the IAS (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, following the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
It also noted that the name of Nisar Ahmad Wani has been included in the 2019 list provisionally, subject to submission of an integrity certificate by the J&K Government.
The notification further stated that the name of Nisar Ahmad Wani has been included in the 2020 list in addition to the Select List in accordance with the relevant regulations, while his inclusion remains provisional subject to the integrity certificate.
The selection lists were approved by the competent authority in accordance with the applicable IAS promotion regulations.
