SRINAGAR: A 25-year-old man died after getting trapped under a caved-in sand mound in Shanoo area of Langate in Handwara, located in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
Reports indicate that Javid Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Jabbar Mir and a resident of Shanoo Langate, was extracting sand along with others when he became trapped under the sand mound.
Local residents rescued the individual and promptly transported him to a nearby hospital. However, upon arrival, the doctors pronounced him dead.
DO Langate, Abdul Rashid Khan, has also confirmed the man’s death in the incident. (GNS)
