SRINAGAR: A tragic incident occurred in Surankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday when a young man was electrocuted to death after coming into contact with low-lying live electricity wires.
Officials said that the deceased has been identified as Ibrar Mehfooz Manhas, son of Mehfooz Manhas, resident of Surankote, aged 25 years.
According to reports, Ibrar accidentally came into contact with low-hanging live wires, resulting in severe electric shock.
He was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Surankote, where doctors declared him brought dead.
BMO Surankote Dr. Mohd Yousaf Choudhary confirmed the death.
Meanwhile, locals have demanded immediate rectification of low-lying electric wires in the area to prevent such tragic incidents in future.(GNS)
