SRINAGAR: A 25-year-old woman died under suspicious circumstances in the Manigam area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, officials said.
According to officials, the woman was allegedly found hanging at her residence and was immediately shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for medical assistance. However, doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.
Soon after the incident, police teams reached the spot and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officials said an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident, while further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, authorities have urged the public and media organisations to respect the privacy and dignity of the bereaved family and refrain from sharing personal identity details.
