SRINAGAR: A 27- year-old man from Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district died due to Covid-19 at SMHS hospital here, becoming the youngest and the 33rd victim of the novel Coronavirus disease in Jammu and Kashmir.
Confirming his death, Nodal officer GMC, Dr Saleem Khan said that the deceased was admitted in SMHS Hospital Srinagar on 01-06-2020 with Bilateral pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS.
“He died within an hour of Admission on Monday and sample came out to be positive today,” he said,
The death is the fifth COVID19 death in two days in Kashmir and the youngest victim of the viral disease.
With his death, the number of casualties due to the novel Coronavirus has reached 33 in J&K. Earlier, 32 patients have died due to COVID-19 including 28 from Kashmir and four from Jammu.
