Three Multinational Companies (MNCs) have been booked for violating norms on Monday.

“During a routine inspection of medical shops here, the field executives of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) booked three Multinational Companies for violating the Legal Metrology laws,” an official statement said.

The violators were found guilty of violating laws which make it mandatory to have declarations of MRP, Net Quantity, Date of Packing, Consumer Cell Number, name of commodity, address of manufacturer, packer and importer on labels on medical and surgical devices, the statement added.

While legal notices have been issued to all the three companies for the lapses, a penal fine of rupees 10000 was slapped on one of them for not mentioning the MRP on its products.
