SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded stop-gap placement of 30 Section Officers as In-charge Administrative Officers in various departments, according to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on Thursday.
Government Order No. 1405-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated August 14, stated that the officers have been placed in their own pay and grade, along with charge allowance as admissible under rules. The arrangement will remain in force for six months or until the vacancies are filled on a regular basis on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC)/Public Service Commission (PSC), whichever is earlier.
The officers include officials posted in the Sheep Husbandry, AYUSH, Health Services, State Taxes, Power Development, Motor Garages, Forest Protection Force, Medical Colleges and other departments.
Among those placed as In-charge Administrative Officers are Iftkhar Layaq Bhatti, Suman Kumar, Kulwant Singh, Ab Rashid Bhat, Tahir Ahmad Khan, Gurvinder Kour, Gurjeet Singh, Mushtaq Ahmad Zaroo, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Ab Rashid Wani, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Arvind Bhat, Rajinder Kumar Pandita, Arun Kumar, Neelam Sobti, Pankaj Bharti, Manzoor Ahmad Khanday, Shafat Ahmad Lala, Kamal Singh, Vikas Gupta, Athar Hussain Nengroo, Devinder Singh, Sanjay Kumar Raina, Adeeta Raina, Mir Shafiq Ahmad, Sanjay Dhar, Shabir Sultan Dar, Bishan Dass, Anju Kumari and Nusrat Mubeen.
The GAD order clarified that the arrangement is purely on a stop-gap basis and would not confer any preferential right on the officers for promotion as Administrative Officers. Their placement will also remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts.
The officers will continue at their present places of posting until further orders.
