SRINAGAR: A 30-year-old man from Poonch district of Jammu region was injured in a bear attack at Anganpathri area of Nowshera in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Quoting locals news agency KNO reported that a 30-year-old man identified as Mohammad Mumtaz of Poonch was seen in a pool of blood at Anganpathri forest around 12 Kilometers from the Nowshera area wherefrom he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment on a temporary wooden stretcher.

Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh, who was accompanying the injured to the hospital, said that “We spotted him in a pool of blood at Anganpathri forests and he was not even able to move properly. We immediately shifted him to the hospital on a temporary stretcher as the area is still not motorable.”

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Boniyar Dr Pervaiz said that the man has suffered critical injuries, adding that he was referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for treatment.
