Out of 708 vehicles deployed with 481 political persons in Jammu and Kashmir, 405 vehicles deployed with 337 political persons do not hold any “Constitutional / Statutory/ Honorary post with the Union or State Government”, the government informs.
Besides, 440 political persons have been allotted secured hotel accommodation by security wing on the basis of threat perception.
“Keeping in view the security considerations,” the govt says, “it would not be feasible to disclose the details of the security cover being provided to or withdrawn from the protected persons.”
Total 1278 categorised persons have been provided security by police, which costs state Rs 10, 88, 53, 460, 75 per month.
On Fuel, the monthly expenditure stands at Rs 45, 44, 403,75. Monthly salary of PSOs is Rs 5,56, 07,721,00, while as monthly hotel accommodations costs state Rs 47, 30, 495,00. Besides, residential guard costs state Rs 4,39,70,841,00 per month.
Govt says Security Wing of J&K Police provides security cover to protected persons as per the instructions contained in Yellow Book on the basis of threat perception assessed through CID and position based.
The State Level Security Review Coordination Committee (SRCC), the government says, meets periodically to review the categorization of the Protected Persons as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India laid down in Yellow Book.
“The guidelines as laid down in the Yellow Book are being strictly followed and there is no violation of any norm on this account,” the govt says.
