Upon his arrival at the technical airport, Shah was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior BJP leaders. Security has been heightened across the region in view of the high-level visit.

According to officials, the home minister will visit a forward post along the India-Pakistan border and is scheduled to review both the security situation and the progress of development initiatives during his stay.

Shah is expected to attend a late-night meeting at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, coinciding with the party’s 46th foundation day, which was celebrated with enthusiasm by BJP workers across Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the day.

On Monday, the home minister will travel to the BSF Border Outpost Vinay in Kathua to assess the security scenario along the border. Later, he will meet the families of Jammu and Kashmir Police martyrs at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu and hand over appointment letters to some of them selected under compassionate grounds.

On the final day of his visit, April 8, Shah will chair a meeting at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar to review ongoing development projects in the Union Territory. He will also participate in a separate meeting focused on assessing the overall security situation in the region.

Meanwhile, BJP’s J&K unit marked the party’s foundation day with flag hoisting ceremonies at party offices and activists’ homes across the region. The main function was led by J&K BJP president Sat Sharma at the party headquarters, attended by senior leaders including MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta, and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma.
