SRINAGAR: A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal early on Saturday, with its epicentre located near Falaincha in Taplejung district, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre in Lainchaur.
The tremor occurred at 6.13 am, officials said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The latest quake comes weeks after a 4.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded on December 14, with its epicentre near Thoche in Manang district.
Nepal, which lies in the seismically active Himalayan region, frequently experiences earthquakes of varying intensities.
