SRINAGAR: Almost four days after his young son died of Covid-19, a Srinagar resident also died. With this, the Covid-19 deaths in Kashmir have reached 10.

Officials said the elderly old city person who died on Monday was suffering from cancer. He was already immune-compromised and had underlying health issues and finally, Covid-19 came as yet another crisis.

“He was suffering from pancreatic cancer and had other co-morbidities,” Dr M Salim Khan of the GMC said. “He is the same patient from Alamgiri Bazar who was previously admitted to the Super Speciality Hospital.”

His son, 32, who was attending him in the hospital within a few days as the young man is believed to have been killed by his immune response to the infection called a cytokine storm.
