Continuing its drive against drug menace, Police has arrested four drug peddlers in Kulgam and Shopian, a police spokesperson informed.
Acting on a specific information Kulgam police apprehended a drug peddler identified as Naresh Singh resident of Baista-Ram Nagar, Udhampur at Jawahar Tunnel. On his search police recovered 300 grams of Charas. A case has been registered against him and further investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, Shopian police during Naka checking at Aglar, Zainpora near Horticulture Nursery intercepted an Alto car bearing registration number JK05E-0595. On search of the car 130 grams Narcotic substance, possibly brown sugar was recovered. Three persons identified as Tariq Ahmad Khan son of Abdul Hamid Khan resident of Gingle, Uri, Baramulla, Mohammad Hussain Wani son of Abdul Gani Wani resident of Batpora, Shopian and Manzoor Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Gani resident of Heerpora, Shopian boarding the car were arrested. The recovered narcotic substance has been sent for forensic examination.
A case has been registered and the investigation has been taken up.
