43 Feared Dead in Plane Crash in Russia

   

SRINAGAR: At least 43 people were reported dead when a passenger plane namely Antonov-24 crashed near Tynda in the Amur region of Russia.

“There were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on board according to Vasily Orlov,” said regional governor as per by Reuters. The burning fuselage of the plane, which was from the Soviet era and was nearly 50 years old, was spotted on the ground by rescue crews.

The flight was operated by Siberia-based Angara Airlines, which disappeared from radar on Thursday and lost contact with air traffic controllers while approaching its destination of Tynda, a remote town in the Amur region bordering China.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched massive operation to track the bodies.
